I have been working lately on a homemade serial logger for my multimeter, Brymen BM257s and I thought that it would be fitting as the first project described on this blog.

This multimeter has an optical UART output via an IR LED.

The official serial cable is a bit too expensive for me, so I have decided that it would be much cheaper (and fun!) to make my own.
